On August 9, 2011 Brother Don Harmon transported the mission group to Charlotte airport.  Pastor and Ms. Bobbie Carrigan, Tommy and Myra Smith, and Ms. Nancy Davis flew from Charlotte to Boston, and then on to Iceland.    The group met Brother Patrick Weimer, his wife Vickie and their children, Clayton, William and Rosa.  We arrived in Iceland around midnight and got settled into our rooms.
On Wednesday morning the ladies accompanied Vickie to take Ms. Runa,  a widow lady,  grocery shopping and later fellowshipped with her in her home.  Pastor Carrigan and Tommy worked on the church building with Brother Weimer.
Thursday the ladies went to Reykjavik(the capital of Iceland) to shop, sight see, and transport teenagers for Thursday evening church service.  The men worked on the church building with Bro. Weimer.  Thursday evening Pastor Carrigan preached and Brother Weimer interpreted the message into Icelandic.  A young woman was gloriously saved after the service.
Friday the men worked at the church helping to prepare and paint windows casings, cut grass and help with construction at the church.  The ladies went door to door visiting with Ms. Vickie.  That evening there was a church pizza fellowship with a time of singing, fellowshipping, and the movie Fireproof.
Saturday the group visited the grave of the Weimers’ daughter, Sarah, who died at birth.  We also visited the grave of an Icelandic teenager who Brother Weimer led to the Lord shortly before he passed away.  Brother Weimer shared that he was looking forward to the return of Christ when at least 2 graves in this Icelandic graveyard will pop open.
Later, we went sightseeing around the southern peninsula.   We visited volcanoes, the North American / European fault line, and drove along the beautiful coastline where we viewed many interesting sights.
Sunday morning Brother Weimer prepared a wonderful breakfast for a church fellowship(English Speaking Service).   During the service, Ms. Nancy,  Tommy, and Ms. Bobbie gave their testimonies and Myra and Pastor Carrigan sang.  Pastor Carrigan preached a great message from Galatians.   We cleaned and prepared the church for the evening service.   During the evening service, Pastor Carrigan challenged the children that we are all zeros but with Christ, who is the ONE, beside us we can have worth.
Monday morning Myra helped Brother Weimer and Ms. Vickie with their website.  The group went door to door with Brother Weimer to distribute tracks and church information to a community.  Later, the men went to the church and installed flooring in the church building.  The ladies fellowshipped with Ms. Runa.  That evening  we celebrated Pastor and Ms. Bobbie’s anniversary with a wonderful fish supper followed by a time of fellowship at the Weimers’ home.
Tuesday we went sightseeing and shopping.  We went back to the church in the evening and had a fellowship to celebrate Pastor Carrigan’s 74th birthday where Pastor Carrigan fulfilled his birthday wish to preach in Iceland on his birthday.
Wednesday – Pastor Carrigan and Tommy helped Brother Weimer to put down flooring in the church building.   The ladies packed and cleaned to prepare for our departure.  That evening was a church work night and fellowship.   Later, Bro. Weimer, Pastor Carrigan and Tommy went fishing from the pier.  The ladies did some last minute shopping.
Thursday – We flew home and Brother Don transported us safely home from the airport.

For several days before our arrival they had rainy, cold and windy weather.  The Lord provided us with beautiful, warm(for Iceland) sunshine.  We were able to meet for the first time and get to know the Weimer family who are a precious family we believe is worthy of support.  Please help us pray for the Weimers as they work to reach Iceland for Christ.
